A play of imagination
White music is a white flower on a white scroll of parchment, White blank verse, a poem that spreads over gentle tonality; Bright thoughts are like little droplets in a pure soul Like black birds scattered over the music staves. If the white flower disquiets the black birds, unwillingly They will come flying with clangs into unembraceable heights There in the blue sky they will be changed into the whitest white And will return, raining down the parchment as the music of white.
